All proceeds benefit the Weekley Family YMCA Partners Campaign, our annual fundraising campaign that provides scholarships for Y programs for families from our community.

 

Race Day Schedule:

7:00 a.m.  Festivities Begin
7:15 a.m.  Race Warm-ups
7:30 a.m.  5k Run
7:35 a.m.  Family Fun Run
8:15 a.m.  Kid’s Fun Run (Ages 13 and under)
8:30 a.m.  Awards Ceremony

 

Course:

The course is as follows: Run begins on Blue Bonnet Boulevard just east of Stella Link Road, proceeds east on Blue Bonnet Boulevard, north on Braes Boulevard, east on Gramercy Street, south on Edloe Street, east on Blue Bonnet Boulevard, south on Sewanee Street, west on Tartan Lane, north on Edloe Street, west on Aberdeen Way, south on Braes Boulevard, west on Tartan Lane, north on Stella Link Road (north bound lanes only), east on Blue Bonnet Boulevard and concludes on Blue Bonnet Boulevard just east of Stella Link Road.

 

 

Training:

Want to join us for the Sprint for Spring but need a little group motivation to get you moving.  Join us at the Weekley Family YMCA for our Y Running Club and Training Program. This training program, led by a USAT Certified Running Coach, will provide you with the tools and support you need.  You will enjoy an initial and final assessment, supervised group runs, complimentary training program, seminars on gait, shoe selection, nutrition, and more.

 

 

Parking:

Complimentary parking available on race day at Pershing Middle School (entrance on Stella Link) and Sheltering Arms (entrance 3838 Aberdeen Way)

Who did we serve in 2012?

  • 12,000 youth were engaged in character development programs.
  • 1,000 children participated in a licensed after school child care program.
  • 3,000 boys and girls participated in summer day camp & holiday camps.
  • 2,085 teens participated in afterschool, leadership training and service learning projects.
  • 3,900 boys and girls learned the value of team work through youth sports participation.
  • 1,500 youth celebrated the joy of learning new skills in swim lessons.

A strong partnership exists between YMCA staff and dedicated volunteers. The Sprint for Spring is not successful without the help of so many wonderful volunteers.
